This is a phrase from Ancient Egyptian, which I love to use when signing my novel – A Bitter Wind, Time Entanglement — because it speaks to the imagery that I hope readers will envision while reading and continue to keep in mind thereafter. It is not only a phrase but also a useful mantra and powerful expression to apply in preparation for meditation, journeying or healing modalities.
First, let me explain break down the phrase:
Sa = the breath of life; the sa is the life force; the breath of life that comes into the human body at conception.
Sekhem = power; the word means power as associated with energy, particularly Kundalini. Sekhem is the power that animates the Sahu; the power that leads one to spiritual consciousness.
Sahu = the spiritual body; Sahu, is one of the 5 bodies of each human according to Egyptian cosmology, most well known are the ba and ka. Sekhem is associated with the awakening of all five bodies, particularly the Sahu, which was made conscious through regular spiritual practice. The awakening of the Sahu is the ultimate stage of the integration of the five bodies, culminating in becoming a “realized” human being.
Therefore, putting these words into a mantra creates a key to the gates of the astral for meditation, channeling, visualization, traveling mindfully and healing work.
“SA SEKHEM SAHU” — Inhale and recite to produce altered states, do so repeatedly as needed, doing so mindful each time as the air fills lungs and diaphragm --
Each time, Exhale using: “HU” (Hoo on a quickly exhaled breath).
You are breathing in the strength, the power and the passion of Sekhmet with every breath.
