Samhain approaches on silent cat paws. Pagans/witches celebrate the start of a New Year while others settle into the end of one. We can all equate the falling leaves, cooling temperatures and frost upon pumpkins with harvesting summer’s bounty, spicy smells from Mom/Grandma’s kitchen and gatherings for friends and family. It is Samhain – HALLOWEEN -- The Day of the Dead (Mexico) – time to dress in costumes, scare with tales of the paranormal sort and remember it is now when the veil between our world and that of our ancestors is thinnest. Our imagination turns to shadowy things and things going bump in the night. Alas, I am thinking about the . . . Shadows I did NOT see today.
